A man from Los Angeles who was caught stealing from a pharmacy without a prescription toldThe Washington Postthat he had been caught “in the act” and told “there was no way he could be responsible.”
A spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department said the suspect was in a pharmacy for about two weeks before he was caught. He had been told he would be charged with a drug overdose and he told him to take the drug “as he had done when he was arrested.”
The spokesman said the suspect was on duty in Los Angeles, working for the city’s Department of Health and Human Services, when the suspect left his store in Los Angeles. The suspect told the police that he was not going to be charged in the alleged overdose.
The suspect arrived at his pharmacy on Saturday, Sept. 3, and was taken to a pharmacy in Los Angeles and arrested. He also was charged with a Drug Stox Permanente violation on Sept. 19. An alleged overdose of Viagra was recorded.
The case is being prosecuted by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office.
